Auto repair estimate form that starts from the inspection

This auto repair estimate form sits right behind your inspection sheet. It keeps the work you finished today apart from what needs attention now or soon, and gets the customer’s initials on each line.

$4.00$4.99Intro price

The estimate page comes with the Multi-Point Inspection Kit: both inspection sides, shop standards and filled samples. 8 pages, Letter and A4.

All three kits for $8.00. The reconditioning list in the condition report kit works the same way for used vehicles.

On the page

What is on an auto repair estimate form?

An estimate page keeps the work finished today apart from what needs attention now or soon. Each recommended line has parts, labour, amount and approve or decline initials, and the totals sit at the bottom. Every amount field is blank, so your shop writes its own prices and labor rate.

  1. Done today, apart from what comes next

Work completed today gets its own box. Recommendations go under Attention now or Attention soon, each with parts, labour, amount and the customer’s approve or decline initials.

  2. Parts, labour, estimate total

Totals sit at the bottom. A line limits approved work to the lines the customer initialed. A field shows how many days the estimate stays valid.

  3. Customer, advisor, technician

Lines for the customer’s signature, the advisor, the authorization date and the technician.

Set once per shop

Shop standards, page 5 of 8, feed the estimate.

On the shop standards page you write your own labor rate per hour. You also set how long an estimate is valid. Add the Attn and Fail points for tread, brake lining and battery. Those points repeat in the legend on both inspection sides. They are your shop’s points, not legal limits.

What is a template for an auto repair estimate?

A ready-made page where a shop writes the recommended work, parts, labor and amounts for the customer to approve. Ours separates work completed today from Attention now and Attention soon. Every line has approve and decline initials, and the totals sit at the bottom.

Can I get estimate templates for free?

Our free sample is side 1 of the inspection only. The findings and estimate page is in the Multi-Point Inspection Kit for $4.00.

How to make an estimate template?

Start from a page that keeps work done apart from work still to do. Give it lines for parts, labor and amount. The findings and estimate page in the Multi-Point Inspection Kit is built this way. Your shop fills the blanks instead of drawing a template.

How to make an estimate template in Excel?

The estimate form here is a fillable PDF, not an Excel file. You type into the fields on screen, or print the page and write. For a spreadsheet you would build your own. Our guide on the auto repair estimate form in Excel explains when a sheet is enough.

Are prices or labor rates filled in?

No, every amount field is blank for your shop to fill. You can write your labor rate and how long estimates stay valid on the shop standards page.

Can the customer approve or decline each line?

Yes, each recommended line has approve and decline initials. The sheet states that approved work is limited to the lines initialed in the approve column.
